Sunday's events didn't stop with the Little Black Dress Brunch! The girls and I changed our shoes and continued our stylish adventures to the Essence Street Style Block Party.
Sunday was filled with tons of laughing, snapping, and sipping. We brunched at the Rooftop 48 in Hell's Kitchen to celebrate the second Blogiversary of Brittany's Piece Love and Sole.
Just because it's a Monday doesn't mean it has to be all about school or work! Mondays can be girls nights out too! Last Monday I had the pleasure of seeing some of the ladies I favor most. We spent our evening being pampered at Hibba Beauty Studio on Madison ave.
Although the temperatures are rising as the summer days progress, why not start looking for your winter attire? Well the girls and I spent our monday sashaying around the Snowman Showroom! Snowman is a brand that combines practicality with style. The designs are inspired by life here in NYC, and the need to be fly as well as ready for whatever mother nature is going to bring our way.
I told you there was a theme this week! Beauty! I spent Sunday Funday with my favourite curl in the world-- My Beautiful Rose. The Curl Fest was a great opportunity to spend with my little love teaching her about self-love and embracing what you have. Because all beauty is not about changing who you are, but embracing the beauty that God gave you.
Can you feel a theme comin' on? Beauty!!!! This past Saturday, I had the pleasure of spending my afternoon with two lovely ladies: Antoinette- Letters to A and Simone- The Social Nubian. We were invited to the 1st annual Beauty Bar Event presented by Chantal Marie "Beast With a Brush".
It's hard to believe that it was three days before the first day of summer, when we seen the scorcher that we seen on Wednesday. Escaping the heat to be pampered at a beauty bar seemed like the right thing to do! Especially when there are goodies up for grabs!
Two words. M U S I C F E S T I V A L !!!!!! The Governor's Ball music festival is the East Coast's version of Coachella-- minus the desert and camping out. This was my first time going to any event of such a grand scale. I am not going to go overboard with details about everything, but I will say it was fucking awesome!!
What else is there to do on a lovely Wednesday afternoon when you have a house full of family!?!? Take them to a free concert in Brooklyn! My family and I had the pleasure of spending the evening at Prospect Park in Brooklyn being entertained by everyone's favourite Janelle Monae!
This past Saturday I had the pleasure of hanging out with my girl Brit from Piece, Love, and Sole.
Upon receiving the event I did not hesitate to RSVP-- because who doesn't want a make a turban for a good cause!?!? Bloggers from all of New York showed up last night for a great cause-- to fight cancer with fashion!
The girls and I were at it again on Friday night! Only, this time we exchanged beauty tips, and a myriad of business cards! We were invited to The Pretty in The City event by celebrity MUA Mimi J. This event was held at Hotel Chantelle, with a niche crowd of stylish men and women.
What is the point of Fridays if you can't spend them with your girlfriends getting the chance to win free shoes from JustFab? Oh yea.. let's not forget the two for one drink specials! This past Friday, I had the opportunity to partake in all of the above!
What is there better to do on a Friday except hangout with your girlfriends from the NYC Fashion Bloggers Meetup group kicking off Fashion Week Brooklyn 2014?
The William Okpo FW 14 presentation consisted of an assortment of non-traditional silhouettes, unexpected fall vibrancy and tasteful retro inspiration. Both of these aesthetics aid in creating a look that is personable and creative. All in all, I will say, that the collection was like a glass of ice water in the desert.
The Mahna Mahna Cocktail event that was exclusive without snobbery.
